New Dedicated Bus Lanes Launched in Moscow: Details and Future Plans
On April 4th, new dedicated bus lanes were introduced in the capital, enhancing the travel experience for 40 urban and regional public transport routes. This development was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor for Transport and Road Infrastructure Development.
A new 0.6-kilometer section of dedicated lanes has been established on the feeder road of Kyivskoye Shosse, specifically near its intersection with Petra Neporozhnego Street. This strategic addition is projected to halve the travel time for buses operating on this particular segment.
Additionally, 0.3 kilometers of new dedicated lanes have been implemented on Stromynka and Preobrazhenskaya streets, in the vicinity where they intersect with the Yauza River.
Further expansion of the dedicated lane network is already on the agenda, with plans to introduce similar improvements on Alexandra Monakhova Street, Ostrovityanova Street, and 4th Magistralnaya Street.
Concurrently with these infrastructure upgrades, specialists from the city's municipal services have also begun renewing road markings across the city. These markings are being applied using advanced, durable materials such as cold two-component plastic and thermoplastic, ensuring their longevity and visibility.
