Trump on Iran Conflict Timeline: Before Midterms?

October 6, 2026Pablo Navarro1 мин

President Donald Trump indicated the conflict with Iran could conclude soon, possibly before or after the upcoming midterm congressional elections.

"All of this, one way or another, will end very quickly, very soon, maybe a little later than the elections, or maybe a little before," Trump stated while addressing supporters in Nebraska.

The elections, where Americans will decide the composition of the House of Representatives and 35 Senate seats, are set for November 3rd. Republicans currently hold a narrow majority in Congress.

A memorandum intended to end a conflict that began on February 28th was signed by Tehran and Washington on June 18th. However, US military forces launched several strikes against Iran in July. The US Central Command claimed these actions were a response to Iran's actions against commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
